We are very excited to introduce our first
watercolour workshop, hopefully the start of
many.
Michelle Underwood is an artist and teacher
who has lived and worked in Saffron Walden
for the past 17 years.
She has recently exhibited paintings in the
Uttlesford Open Artists Exhibition 2023 in
Saffron Walden Museum, featuring the work
of over 50 local artists and makers, exploring
the people, places and landscape of
Uttlesford.
Michelle completed an Art Foundation Course at Sunderland University in 1991 and went on
to study art as a subject specialism at Lancaster University.
She has recently studied with the Royal Drawing School (in 2022), completing courses in
portraiture and watercolour & ink.
Michelle’s style is fluid, ranging from bold
abstract ink work to gentle watercolours
representing her love for landscape and
nature in the local area and in the wide
expanses of the Lake District where she
lived for 4 years.
Michelle teaches classes and paints
commissions to order.
You can find more examples of her
watercolour and ink work on both Twitter
and Instagram.
The cost for the day including refreshments is £165 if you bring your own equipment and
paints etc. Michelle is happy to supply all the equipment you will need for the day that you
can take home after (excluding paint and ink) for £35. Booking is essential as there are only 8
places per day available.
