Watercolour is a beautiful, luminous medium that is full of surprises. Through gentle and supportive exercises we’ll practice relaxing with the unexpected, enjoying ‘mistakes’ and letting it flow! You’ll be guided through the key things you need to know about watercolour to be able to use it skilfully, including how to paint wet-in-wet style, and how to create washes and glazes.
You’ll also be encouraged to explore ways to calm your mind and soothe anxiety through simple, guided exercises that support well-being, creativity, and self-care.
This course is underpinned by Emma’s experience as a committed meditator (since 2003), and her Foundation in Relational Mindfulness (from the Karuna institute with Middlesex Uni.). It is not a mindfulness course but it is informed by Emma’s interest in this area.
This course is suitable for you if you’re a beginner, and also if you’re a more experienced artist looking to re-connect to watercolour or to yourself in a gentle, low-pressure way.
5 weeks. Starting 21 September 2021.
