Montclair Makos YMCA Water Polo TeamPractices will focus on developing the fundamental skills of water polo, including head up freestyle swimming, treading water, catching and throwing with one hand as well as 25-yard scrimmaging. Program is for youth ages 10-14 and beginners are welcome. Practice times are Mondays (6:45-7:45pm), Wednesdays (6:30pm-7:30pm) and Sundays (9:00am-10:-00am).
The fall season will run from September 15 to December 17 and the cost for the season will be $620. The team may play local games in the Fall with Princeton, Jersey Aquatic Center and Asphalt Green and in the Spring may participate in Tournaments in NY, PA and CT.
**To enroll, participants must have the ability to complete 10×25 yard laps continuously (i.e. swim 250 yards) and be able to tread water for 3 minutes. Interested players are invited to attend a Trial Practice and Swim Assessment on September 8 at 6:45 p.m. to test out the sport. Attendees who meet swim proficiency requirements will then be invited to register for the fall program.
