Don't believe anything Water from Your Eyes tells you. Don't play their game... or you'll get lost. Sometimes the songs by Rachel Brown and Nate Amos seem like jokes that are deadly serious. At others, they're art-pop cryptograms. They lure you in with some almost comical little noise and then trap you down their rabbit hole. They are the lunatic characters Alice would encounter if Lewis Carroll wrote a hyper-rock adaptation of his fairy tale. Every time they hit the piñata, Water From Your Eyes fill the floor with candy and lollipops flavoured with Frank Zappa, Disco Inferno, The Go! Team, Liars, Royal Trux and 100 gecs. Several parallel realities that in the music of this Brooklyn duo overlap.
After their 2023 album/introduction to Dadaism Everyone's Crushed, Brown and Amos are reactivating themselves as one of the most unclassifiable musical projects of today. Water From Your Eyes will perform on 7th December at Casa Capitão in Lisbon.
