To mark World Ocean's Day, we have a line up of speakers and performers to explore what the ocean means to us and the world around us.
About this Event

The ocean can be a space of contradiction. Filled with tranquility, joy and the surreal for some. Connected to feelings of fear, uncertainty and grief for others. The ocean can bring up questions of belonging and unbelonging. The ocean is filled with precious life. All delicately interconnected. Both known and unknown.

'Wata Is Life' will explore the idea that the waters are connected to many important questions in the present day such as environmental and social justice and wellbeing. To mark World Ocean's Day, this immersion will use folktale, interactive art, music, poetry, science, talks and more.

The experience will be organised into three tracks. Each track has been put together to reflect on different ways of looking to sea. The three tracks are: Conservation; Folktales and Movements; Imagination and Wellbeing.
