This vibrant event brings together local organisations to showcase practical skills that help us live more sustainably. Whether you’re looking to learn something new, get hands-on with activities, or explore ways to reduce waste, this fair has it all.
Waste Not Want Not Fair

Location: The Street CaVCA, Scarborough

Embers: Learn how to get the most out of your food, reduce waste and make delicious food with live cooking demos from Dan Hargreaves.
Repair Café – Bring your broken items and learn how to repair them with expert guidance.
Sowing Bee – Sewing Activity: Get creative with textiles with fun sewing projects for all ages
Sea Glimpse Design - Local sustainable artwork
Community Furniture Store - Scarborough – Bird Box Making: Create your own bird box to help local wildlife.
North Yorkshire Rotters – Wormery & Smoothie Bike: Learn about composting with worms and pedal your way to a healthy smoothie!
GROW Scarborough – Planting Project: Join in planting and growing your own vegetables and flowers.
Down 2 Earth – Willow Weaving: Discover the ancient craft of willow weaving.
York and District Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers – Activity: Explore the art of weaving, spinning, and dyeing with local experts.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue and Yorkshire Seal Group - Learn about marine life conservation and rescue efforts in our region.
Environmental Art - Creative environmental art projects that raise awareness about sustainability.
Raincliffe Wood Community Enterprise - Fun activities that connect you to the natural world.
SF Innovations – Haybox Cooking: Learn how to cook with minimal energy using haybox cooking techniques.

Supported through The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the event is part of a series of activity-based events and workshops that bring people together to build community, develop understanding of the ways in which our heritage can help save money and boost resilience, and show how the use of these skills can benefit the climate and nature.
