Have you ever wondered what happens to your waste after it leaves the curb? Join us for a free, family-friendly event on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mohawk Street Landfill, 20 Morrison Rd, Brantford, that will help residents discover the journey waste takes - from curb to landfill - and the important role each of us plays in building a more sustainable future. This free event features plenty of activities for kids of all ages, including:
- A bouncy castle
- Face painting
- Arts and crafts
- Games
It’s also an opportunity for residents to learn about the importance of proper waste disposal in building a more sustainable future. Free parking is available on-site.
Attendees will also have the chance to take part in a free guided tour of the landfill, where they can explore behind the scenes of waste disposal, meet with knowledgeable staff, and ask questions. Educational booths will be set up so residents can learn how waste is handled, how recycling and green bin use makes an impact, and what residents can do to reduce their environmental footprint.
