In collaboration with TAGS and the Topsham Folk Club, we are delighted to annouce the annual wassailing event for 2026.The event will take place in the Lower Field at The Goat Walk so no dogs can be admitted at this event.
In order to enjoy the evening please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Also, do bring along mugs to enjoy the mulled cider.
The purpose of the event is to ward off any evil spirits from the apple trees so ensuring a great harvest in 2026. This is done by making lots of noise - so also bring pots/pans to bang, whistles or anything that makes a noise. There will also be a shotgun used. And be prepared to sing along to the band. So please make any suitable adjustments if there are any noise sensitivities.
There will be a fire pit so we ask that children are supervised at all times during the event.
After the event the band will go onto the Malthouse at The Bridge if anyone wishes to continue the festivities.
