STEVE COOGAN (Philomena, I'm Alan Partridge, 24 Hour Party People), an arrogant actor with low self-esteem and a complicated love life, lands the eponymous role in an adaptation of the unfilmable novel "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman". But the shoot goes awry due to constant sparring with actor ROB BRYDON (Human Remains, Marion & Geoff), who plays Uncle Toby and believes his role to be of equal importance to Coogan's.
