The Washington Metropolitan AME Zion Church Music Ministry presents ClassiCOCOA: A Celebration of African American Classical Music on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at Washington Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 613 N. Garrison Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103.
This African American History Month concert will feature choral, solo, and instrumental works by celebrated African American composers including William Grant Still, Florence Price, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Margaret Bonds, Adolphus Hailstork, George Walker, and others. Performances will include the Voices of Zion, invited choirs, soloists, instrumentalists, and emerging young musicians.
Led by Dr. Duane Foster, Minister of Music, and under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. William L. Johnson, III, ClassiCOCOA honors the beauty, resilience, and spiritual depth of African American classical music.
A post-concert fellowship, “Cocoa & Conversations,” will follow the performance.
