Calling all Age of Sigmar, Warhammer, and tabletop skirmish fans!Southampton Warcry club invites you to its first ever 'WarTry' event, where you can try out one of Warhammer's most fun and easy-to-learn game systems in a relaxed environment for free. Whether you're a tabletop veteran who's heard of Warcry before or you have no idea what the game is, it doesn't matter, because this event is for you. We have everything you need, so come on down and try our Warhammer's most underrated game (in our humble opinion).
What is Warcry?: Warcry is a skirmish game set in Warhammer's 'Age of Sigmar' fantasy setting. It's a fast-paced, dynamic game played with between 3-15 miniatures on either side. Games typically last between 45 minutes and 1 hour 30.
What will be happening on the day?: We'll have boards set up for you to play on, and one of our club members will give you a friendly intro game where you'll be able to learn the core mechanics of the game in a back-and-forth scenario.
What do you need?: Nothing! We're got it all covered, from Warbands for you to use as well as terrain, rulers and dice.
Who is it for?: Everybody! Warcry is such an easy game to play, you don't even need to have played a tabletop wargame before. It's perfect for gamers wanting an alternative to large-scale systems, new wargamers and youngsters.
Can I bring a friend?: Friend, relative, spouse, minion...all are welcome, and we can absolutely make sure that you get a fun game against each other if you do bring someone along.
How long will games last?: Probably around two hours, as we'll be going at a relaxed pace.
Who are we?: Southampton Warcry Club is one of the UK's largest dedicated clubs for playing Warcry, and has been active for two years. We hold monthly meetups, host tournaments and have many regulars who are well-known in the UK scene.
This is a 'drop-in' event, so you're welcome to come and go as you please. If you're interested in coming along, please let us know in the event page so we can try to gauge numbers on the day.
