Warbirds Over Monroe Hangar Dance with the Salisbury Swing BandWe didn't expect to have a Hangar Dance this year. This is info we have so far until Hangar Dance organizers can update everything. This is so you can save the date and pass the word!
WHEN:

5:00 PM Beginner Swing Dance Lesson by Denise & Tom Bach of CharlotteSwingDance.com (Immediately after The Wall of Fire at 4:45 pm)
6:00 PM Dinner Served (Italian)
6:00-8:10 Band plays (2 sets with 10 min break between sets)
8:10 Recorded dance music (or possibly a college jazz band will play for those who want to hang out a little longer and dance.
LOCATION:
Monroe Executive Airport, 3900 Paul J Helms Dr., Monroe, NC 28110
This will be at the large white hangar inside the gate of the airport.
COST:

ATTIRE:
WWII uniforms or 1940’s period dress (or veterans in your military uniform) is requested but not required. Period dress makes it extra fun. Airplane hangars have concrete floors, not wood floors. Plan to wear shoes that will work best for you on this surface. Airplane hangars at times can be a bit cool so depending on outside temperature, layers of clothing are sometimes nice to have.
Airshow Info:
This year the Salisbury Swing Band will play for the Hangar Dance. This is one of the largest civilian air shows on the East Coast, Warbirds Over Monroe has something for everyone. From jets and warbirds, aerobatics, comedy, choppers, re-enactors and so much more, the annual event brings history to life. Bring the kids to not only learn about these massive pieces of American history, but also honor the brave service men and women as part of a great Veterans Day celebration. With more than 40 vintage aircraft, the Air Show, along side the fantastic food and kids activities, is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that can't be missed. Event is held rain or shine.
