About this Event
Come find out how to make your home warmer while reducing energy bills and carbon emissions.
Whether you own or rent your home, this event will guide you to advice, suppliers and funding.
We have a fantastic line-up of speakers who will explain all about retrofitting. That means upgrading a home to improve its energy efficiency, making it easier to heat and better at staying warm for longer.
We'll hear how residents can work together on this to save time and money.
We'll also get an update on plans for a green heat network for East Lothian.
This free event will also offer:
- Soup, tea and coffee from Musselburgh’s Cook Club
- Free informal consultation with a retrofit-specialist architect from Affect Studio
- Stalls to browse and meet organisations offering retrofit advice, funding, services + products
- Fringe sessions on what tenants or home-owners can do
- Play activities for kids
You can drop in for a bit or stay for the full event.

A green heat network for East Lothian
Come hear from East Lothian Council's Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Officer about his vision for a district heat network that could provide cheap, reliable heating for a large number of homes in Musselburgh. The heat network could use sustainable 'waste heat', green hydrogen and a sea source heat pump. Find out how residents can help make this happen, and how the community could have a role in its governance and operation.
