This is a slower paced class with postures being held for 1-5 minutes. You will be lead through a sequence of poses while receiving hands-on assists. Props will be provided to support any body! During class, live crystal sound bowls are played by Tim Mentzer in the background to bring you deeper into the meditative experience.
Yin and yang is a Taoist concept explaining the dichotomies in nature (including those inside us). Yang is the moving, highly energetic aspect of things. We have plenty of yang energy in our busy lives. Yin is complementary; the stable and slow energy. In our bodies this includes the stiffer connective tissues, especially around the hips and lower back. These areas of the body will be the focus of this class. The yin areas are accessed less frequently and so they hold stagnant energy. In order to access these stiffer areas, we need to slow down and give them time to gently lengthen as we slowly enter, hold, and exit poses.
This class is held in our Fire Room which is heated to 90 degrees.
Please bring a yoga mat and water.
