Fair play and good sportsmanship will be a key focus of this event, as there will potentially be several new players. Veteran players should take it upon themselves to explain what they are doing and why to their inexperienced opponents to reduce confusion, and encourage them to come to future events.
. . .
The current rulebook (Warhammer 40,000 - 10th Edition) and Munitorum field manual (as amended as of 06/25/2024) will be used. All "Army Rules" documents and/or 10e Codices currently available from Games Workshop will be valid, with the exception of "Legends" (although we will be very friendly to reasonable proxies out of the current Horus Heresy model range). All downloadable rules may be found here:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/warhammer-40000-downloads/
. . .
Players must bring their Army, Game Aids (Dice, Tape Measures, etc.), Army Rules (as updated), Pariah Nexus Mission Deck, and a compact cordless device capable of running the "Best Coast Pairings" (BCP) application.
. . .
Players must devise one (1) 2,000 point army list. This list must comply with all 10E army building rules and current point values (as amended in GW downloads)." Valid lists must be submitted to the BCP registration page listed below, and list editing will be freely permitted until the submission deadline on 11:59pm on Tuesday, 06/25/2024 - after that, please contact the T.O. at the email below if you need to make a correction.
. . .
Please note that PAINTING POINTS will be factored as described in the Pariah Nexus Mission Deck. Armies will be permitted to play even if not fully "Battle Ready," but must observe the normal CPG Painting & WYSYWIG rules (at least primer, NO bare plastic/metal/resin, official GW models only, NO counterfeits). The full rules are available for review here:
https://sites.google.com/view/creativepursuitgames/home/tabletop-games/general-tournament-standards-at-cpg
. . .
Missions will be drawn from the Pariah Nexus Mission Deck, and scored according to all rules listed there. Terrain layouts will be pre-set and informed by suggestions in the Tournament Companion - although Primary Mission and Mission Rules will be drawn once per game for the room at large from a sub-selection of the range, and table sizes will be approximately 44"x60". Objective markers will NOT be considered solid objects.
. . .
Players are welcome (and indeed, encouraged) to help with table setup on Friday evening, 06/28/2024.
. . .
The Tournament will proceed as follows:
* The first round and all subsequent pairings will be determined with the BCP application, using standard Swiss Pairings.
* Each tournament battle will last 3 hr.; a new round should not be started if there is clearly not time to complete it. Any time extensions to finish a round may be granted only at the T.O.'s discretion.
. . .
Cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, bad hygiene, or willfully negligent handling of terrain will result in your ejection from the event without refund.
. . .
