About this Event
We have loved celebrating the opening of the new Fashion Gallery at Manchester Art Gallery with our series of workshops that have focused on re-use, mending and upcycling. The final event in our programme of events in partnership with Stitched Up is a Wardrobe Surgery.
Do you have a t-shirt you no longer wear or jeans that don’t fit anymore? Don’t get rid of them, why not get creative and give them a new lease of life.
At this workshop you will learn how to wield a needle and thread or use a sewing machine to rework an unloved item of clothing. Dive into our stash of reclaimed textiles, trims and buttons and get inspired by our sample rail.
Adults aged 18+ are all welcome.
Please note, if you need us to provide you with an item to revamp there will be an additional charge on the day of £2 per item ( cash please )
Tea, coffee and our delicious homemade biscuits will be waiting for you on arrival. If you have any dietary requirements or require assistance accessing the Lecture Room please contact Debbie, [email protected]
When you have finished creating your piece why not take the opportunity to take a look at the Fashion Gallery and Dandy Style exhibition, and enjoy some refreshments in the Gallery Café before browsing in the Gallery Shop.
