The Wappingers Creek Derby is a canoe and kayak race that takes place the last Saturday in April each spring from Pleasant Valley NY, passing through LaGrange, and ending in the Town of Poughkeepsie at Greenvale Park. This race ran for 49 consecutive years up until 2019. Tentatively scheduled to restart on 26 April 2025.
