𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Central Station (meet at the Eddy Avenue florist).
𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸: 15km Bushwalk - should take 4 to 6 hours including breaks.
𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆: Hard (max elevation gain 150m).
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗨𝗽: A Google Form will be released about 2 days prior to the walk on all official Wandersoc social media channels.

𝗢𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱: or bank card to tap onto public transport - mandatory for this hike!
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀: please bring shoes you are comfortable getting dirty or wet, as there may be puddles or mud along the way. Hiking boots or sports shoes are good choices.
𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸: carry bags or sports bags are not appropriate for this walk.
𝗔𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝗟 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿: if the temperature on the day is forecast to be 30 degrees or above, you must have at least 2L or you will not be allowed to participate!
𝗨𝗩 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝘁: if the temperature on the day is forecast to be 30 degrees or above you must have these two items, or you will not be allowed to participate! Sunnies and a clear umbrella/parasol are optional but recommended if you sunburn easily.
𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮: A small umbrella or disposable poncho are sufficient, but a proper hiking raincoat is highly recommended if you have one.
𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀: Very highly recommended! There are no places to buy food along the way!

• Please meet at 8:15am at Central Station, at the Eddy Avenue florist:

• You will be taking the 8:48 CCN train from Central Station Platform 8. If you miss this train you'll have to take the next one with Runsoc.
• We will be alighting at 9:56am at Wondabyne Station platform 2. The walk will begin at 10:00am.
𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗰:

• You will be taking the 9:48 CCN train from Central Station Platform 8. If you miss this train the next one is at 10:48.
• You will be alighting at 10:56am at Wondabyne Station platform 2. The run will begin at 11:00am.
𝗜𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:
• The start point at Wondabyne Station has 𝗻𝗼 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 - the only transport is the CCN train mentioned above. We very strongly recommend travelling with Wandersoc, Runsoc or Railsoc for this event.
• If you must drive, you will have to park at an adjacent station and take the CCN train in. Remember to let the guard at the back of the train know you are getting off at Wondabyne or it won't stop.

• The hike/run end point is Woy Woy Station. Trains back to Sydney arrive roughly every half an hour.

After a scenic train journey alongside Mullet Creek, we’ll begin our walk at the unique Wondabyne station, the only station in Australia with no road access. From there we’ll have a steep ascent up the ridge with views over the Hawkesbury river and Wondabyne Quarry. After a short break to recover from our climb, we willl continue along the Rifle Range Firetrail and make our way to the Hawkesbury walking track. From here we’ll descend down to Kariong Brook Falls, with a short break to enjoy picturesque views over Brisbane Water national park. At the bottom of our descent we’ll be treated to the majestic Kariong Brook Falls, with huge rock ledges overlooking the falls. From here we will have a scramble back up the ridge again, enjoying views over the park, until we reach Tommo’s Firetrail where we’ll be able to enjoy an easier route.
With a stop to enjoy views of Mount Wondabyne, we’ll rejoin the Hawkesbury track and walk onwards to the Mullet Creek Firetrail. Here we’ll split with our Runsoc friends as we wish them good luck on their run up Mount Wondabyne. After turning onto the Tunnel firetrail and rejoining the runners, we’ll finally follow Dillon’s Firetrail before passing through Woy Woy to reach the station, and our adventure will come to an end.
