About this Event

The National Wildlife Federation’s #SaveLACougars campaign and its partners at the Cougar Conservancy are excited to announce the launch of a Docent-led tour of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing. The program will inform, engage, and empower tour participants on the importance of coexisting with our local wildlife and give people a closer look at what will be the largest wildlife crossing in the world.

Guided by the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing Docents, each tour will lead small groups along publicly accessible trails near the construction site of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing in Agoura Hills. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the monumental conservation project up-close and learn about how the crossing will ensure that local wildlife populations thrive into the future. Tour groups will also have access to factual information about human-wildlife interactions including effective non-lethal strategies that can be used to coexist with cougars and other animal species while living and recreating in or near wild spaces.

There are some challenges associated with accessing this tour.

  • You can expect to travel approximately 0.3 miles across flat and uneven terrain.
  • Take caution that this location is open with direct sun exposure, so please wear appropriate clothing and take special precautions [i.e. wear protective clothing, sunscreen, hats, etc.] for your safety and comfort during the tour.
  • There are no bathrooms located at the crossing site.

The program is free and members of the community are required to register in advance for the tours. These tours are recommended for ages 18 years or older. If minors attend, they must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

If you have an accommodation request, and for groups larger than 6 people, please email Kelsey Bernard at [email protected].

The Cougar Conservancy reserves the right to cancel any reservations at any given time due to severe or imminent deterioration of weather conditions. We will communicate with scheduled parties prior to the tour time if a cancellation is required.
