Dobcross Youth Band are proud to present the iconic first adventure of Wallace & Gromit, featuring Julian Nott’s original film score 🎶 — specially arranged for brass band by Rebecca Lundberg and conducted by Musical Director James Atkins.Join us for this cracking performance as we bring to life Wallace & Gromit’s famous trip to the moon in search of… CHEESE! 🧀🚀
In A Grand Day Out (1989), Wallace and his loyal dog Gromit discover they’ve run out of cheese! Determined to fix this dire situation, they decide to build a homemade rocket 🚀 and travel to the Moon — everyone knows it’s made of cheese, after all!
Their lunar picnic doesn’t quite go as planned, though… When they encounter a lonely, coin-operated robot who dreams of skiing, Wallace and Gromit’s simple quest for cheese turns into an unforgettable adventure filled with charm, humour, and plenty of claymation creativity. 🌙🐶🧀
In addition to the film, the band will perform a short concert featuring our talented soloists 🌟 as they prepare for the 2026 National Youth Championships. 🏆
Following its premiere in Summer 2025, this will be one of the first-ever performances of the Community Brass Edition of A Grand Day Out — and a Saddleworth premiere! 🎬🎶
