Continuous Load Path: Wall Bracing
Course Description
This course will help you to understand braced wall requirements and how they impact the design of a house.
Learning Objectives
- Locate and label braced wall panels within braced wall line locations on plans submitted for building permits
- Identify applications that are difficult to meet with prescriptive bracing methods and explore alternative solutions (narrow garage walls, window walls, two story walls, etc.)
- Utilize software tools to identify minimum braced wall length requirements
- Evaluate prefabricated engineered solutions and select an appropriate solution when you're building design precludes the use of prescriptive bracing
Speaker
