Walking with Palaeontologists in Sandown Bay - 3 miles

Discover the geology of Sandown Bay - this walk along the promenade and beach will explain the origin of the bay, and take a look at the pebbles on the beach. If beach conditions allow, this will include a look at the dinosaur footprints a Yaverland.


Length of walk: 3 miles (approx 2 hours)

Walk Cost: Free of charge

Walk Leader: Dr Martin Munt

Type of Walk: Circular

Pace of Walk: Moderate - This walk will follow a moderate pace.

Walk grade: Easy - Mainly flat walking, on paths with good surfaces. No stiles, none or few steps.

Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.
