Get a glimpse of Pennsylvania Avenue where feminists have marched to demand their constitutional rights like the 19th Amendment to important causes like education, labor, and healthcare. The sites and stories of women like Mary Church Terrell, Clara Barton, and Alice Paul will have you asking "why didn't I learn this in school?" The corners of Downtown, DC hold pieces of history that illustrate how women have been essential to the growth of Washington, DC and the prosperity of the United States.
