Walking Talking Tuesday is now part of the Feel Good in the Forest program! We're working in partnership with Forestry England to deliver activities for their "Feel Good in the Forest" programme. This is a series of activities for people who are looking to improve their health and wellbeing, to meet new people and spend time outdoors.
Walking Talking Tuesday sessions are delivered by the wonderful Debs - aka Shorty - and provide opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, trails and good conversation.
Distance: 7 miles walking
We'll be meeting at 9:30am ready for a prompt 9:45am start. Full meeting details will be included in the confirmation email after booking.
As this is a Christmas Special, we have a table booked at the Ferrers Arms for 12:30pm for those who would like to stay for a festive lunch after the walk. Details on how to book onto the meal will be in your confirmation email after booking.

What will the walk be like?
You can expect plenty of scenic trails, opportunity to 'connect' to nature and good conversation with the leaders and fellow walkers. As you'll be guided on the walk by trained leaders, these sessions are a great opportunity to safely build your knowledge of the trails in South Derbyshire, whilst building fitness at the same time.
What are the benefits of walking?
As well as the practical benefits (learning the ins and outs of the trails) and physical benefits (improving fitness and building muscle strength), walking is well-known to have positive effects on mental health too, increasing feelings of happiness and helping us to feel "grounded". And so Walking, Talking, Tuesdays are opportunity to do just that; walk, talk and reconnect to yourself, to others and to the great outdoors!
Who can go to these walks?
These walks are useful for those that are new to off-road walking, looking to build confidence in their outdoor skills, coming back from injury and who want a fun and gentle way to exercise or simply anyone who wishes to make new friends, chat, and enjoy some fresh air and take photos! A safe, fun and supportive way to exercise, and wrapped up in less than two hours.
Kit requirements;
Off-road trail running / walking shoes
Clothes suitable for the weather conditions, plus additional warm layer for emergencies
Warm coat (preferably waterproof if weather conditions are poor)
