Walking, Talking, Tuesdays

Taking place on alternate Tuesday mornings, these guided walks will explore beautiful trails in the National Forest. We'll meet at 9:15am ready for a prompt 9:30am start.
Where will we meet?
We'll be rotating our meeting location and routes each alternate Tuesday. The meeting locations will be the same as those we use for our Thursday bRUNch Club sessions (but in reverse) and so those of you who are familiar with bRUNch Club will know that we may encounter muddy sections, moderate hills and one or two stiles to climb on the walks... This all adds to the adventure!
What will the walk be like?
You can expect plenty of scenic trails, opportunity to 'connect' to nature and good conversation with the leaders and fellow walkers. As you'll be guided on the walk by trained leaders, these sessions are a great opportunity to safely build your knowledge of the trails in South Derbyshire, whilst building fitness at the same time.
What are the benefits of walking?
As well as the practical benefits (learning the ins and outs of the trails) and physical benefits (improving fitness and building muscle strength), walking is well-known to have positive effects on mental health too, increasing feelings of happiness and helping us to feel "grounded". And so Walking, Talking, Tuesdays are opportunity to do just that; walk, talk and reconnect to yourself, to others and to the great outdoors!
Who can go to these walks?
These walks are useful for those that are new to off-road walking, looking to build confidence in their outdoor skills, coming back from injury and who want a fun and gentle way to exercise or simply anyone who wishes to make new friends, chat, and enjoy some fresh air and take photos! A safe, fun and supportive way to exercise, and wrapped up in less than two hours.
Distance; expect to cover around 5 miles in around 2 hours.
Kit requirements;
Off-road trail running / walking shoes
Clothes suitable for the weather conditions, plus additional warm layer for emergencies
Warm coat (preferably waterproof if weather conditions are poor)
Hat and gloves (depending on weather)
Sufficient snack / drinks to sustain you on the walk
Small backpack or bum-bag to carry items not being worn
Cash / card for emergencies (or post-walk cake!)
