An inclusive, empowering, and culturally safe self-defence workshop.About this Event
The Walking Like Warriors self-defense classes will include high-level martial arts demos, situational awareness, body language breakdowns, street safety, and practical self-defence tools that everyone should know. This workshop is specifically intended for youth, women, and 2Spirit people from Indigenous communities, and for people of all ages, sizes, and athletic ability.
We are offering a workshop in the morning and in the evening of November 5th. While the second workshop will build on the first, you can register for one or both workshops in any order!
Workshop 1: 10AM-Noon
Workshop 2: 5PM-7PM
Workshops Include:
- Instruction from Professional Martial Artists
- How to Improve Situational Awareness
- Common Street Safety
- Effective Verbal Strategies
- Empowerment Coaching
- Grappling and Striking Techniques
- A Positive, Team-Building Atmosphere
- Lessons on How to Effectively Prevent, Managing, and Escaping Conflict
- Practical Self-Defense Tips to Protect Yourself and Others!
