About this Event
Enjoy a two-hour walking art tour of American Art from the Smithsonian American Art Museum collection. You will begin your tour at the start of the 1700’s American Colonial Art and work your way up into the beginning of the 20th Century. We will view top examples of Hudson River School Art, Realism, American Impressionism, American Golden Era, and artfully ending at the beginnings of Modern American. This is a very fast-paced fun tour with our Street Art Museum Tours art museum tour guide Stephen. This tour includes famous fan-favorite artists such as John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Thomas Moran, George Catlin, Benjamin West, John La Farge, Frederic Edwin Church, and many others. How to Join
You will receive a confirmation email confirming your ticket. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the tour to check in with your tour guide. The group will meet outside of the museum at the corner of F Street N.W. and 7th Street N.W. Across the street is the Hotel Monaco.

Stephen Mead
Stephen has led a life and career rooted in understanding, sharing, and teaching others about the arts. He spent many years in London as a lead tour guide at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He was also a speaker for the National Arts Collection Fund and an educator at a myriad of educational institutions throughout Britain. Since moving to the Washington D.C. area six years ago, Stephen has spent countless hours leading locals and visitors alike through our many monuments and the capital’s museums. Above all else, Stephen is a master storyteller who weaves together the threads of history and art to engage and delight his audiences.
