About this Event
Holding Peace, One Step at a Time
Join us for a guided labyrinth walk to ground ourselves and offer peace to our nation.
This is not a protest, it is a practice. Walking a labyrinth is a way to channel uncertain energy toward a common aim. As we navigate heightened tensions, felt helplessness, division and grief for people, families, communities and our nation, may we gather together for silence, stillness, intention and community. We are not alone, but together in this season.
TIME: SUNSET event will begin with a gathering AT 5:00PM, a brief introduction to the labyrinth followed with an opening meditation to support the journey. The invitation to walk the labyrinth will coincide with sunrise and completed by candlelight. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity to participate in a collaborative art engagement - faciltiated by Sarah Patterson.
One can expect to walk the labyrinth in 20-45 minutes, depending upon pace and volume of guests.
PARKING: Parking is available on the property adjacent to the labyrinth off Pico Street (before turning onto Blue Mountain Court). Please park off Pico Street and not in front of or in the driveway of the residence on Blue Mountain Court.
The labyrinth is located at the residence of the Sisters of Saint Benedict in Grand Terrace where Sr. Joan Sasse currently resides. It is a replica of the Chartres Cathedral labyrinth in Chartres, France, that still houses the stone labyrinth originally laid in the nave of the cathedral during the 13th century.
MISC: Please note there is no access to the residence of the Sisters of St. Benedict, nor access to restrooms, so please plan accordingly. In addition, this is in a residential neighborhood and thus it will be expected all guests gather with a quieted and respectful disposition.
