WALK: Shropshire - Loton Park & Alberbury VillageWALK LEADER: This walk is led by Chrissy.
TICKETS: https://buytickets.at/everybodyoutdoors/1448644
WALK SUMMARY:
Starting at The windmill Inn, this is an out and back route through Loton Park, into Alberbury Village and back to The Windmill Inn.
This is a gentle 5km / 3.1mile route.
This event is for plus size people of all genders to create a safe and inclusive space. We do not set a size restriction on this, but if you are smaller than a size 18/2XL we would ask you to consider if there might be other groups that you could attend.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
The walk is mostly on clear maintained paths varying between hard packed dirt, gravel and concrete, one section is across farmland, but this is well-maintained and there is a clear route through the field. The route is flat apart from a small section coming into Alberbury which is downhill for no more than 15 meters and an incline out of Alberbury on the return route which is no more than 15 meters of incline, this will be taken at the pace of the group.
We will take in Rowton Mill, a lovely windmill still in fantastic condition, Loton Park which is home to Deer with a lot of history and points of interest along the route, and Alberbury Village where we will take a look in the church and return back to The Windmill Inn where there is an opportunity for a tea/coffee in their gardens, overlooking stunning Shropshire countryside (Weather permitting!!).
Along the route, there are two large up and over the wall stiles which we will take one person at a time, and a kissing gate stile at the village.
Toilets can be found at the church at the midpoint of the route (2.5km)
