WALK ON THE WILD SIDE SERIES AT NEILSON SPEARHEAD NATURE PRESERVEThe Walk on the Wild Side series reflects the Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society's purpose to protect birds and the places they need and inspire lasting connections between people and nature.
These walks provide free, hands-on opportunities to explore the preserve, notice wildlife and birds, and learn from the land, all in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Walks are scheduled for 1.5 hours on the second Saturday of each month. Details are posted on our webpage at: www.spearheadmhas.org/events-programs.
Donations to support our work are appreciated and accepted on our website and on-site at the preserve.
MHAS is seeking volunteer Walk on the Wild Side leaders and birders to help guide these outdoor experiences throughout the year. Leaders do not need to be professional naturalists, but enthusiasm, curiosity, and a love of the outdoors are what matter most. Leaders will help participants explore the preserve, notice wildlife, and enjoy the land, while reflecting MHAS’s commitment to environmental education, stewardship, inclusion, and community connection.
