Walk leader
This walk is led by Sarah Hindley.
Walk summary
A 2.6 mile scenic route on the Clent Hills, taking in the oldest tree on Clent and the enigmatic Four Stones. After following the easy access path to The Four Stones, we descend through woodland before climbing back up the hills to take in views across the Midlands. Paths are mostly red sandstone and gravel, with some occasional protruding tree roots and rocks. The woodland paths can be very muddy. Please wear suitable footwear for the walk.
This event is for plus size people of all genders to create a safe and inclusive space. We do not set a size restriction on this, but if you are smaller than a size 18/2XL we would ask you to consider if there might be other groups that you could attend.
Route description
This 2 and a half mile route takes in breath-taking scenery, including the wonderful Four Stones and the oldest tree on Clent. The descent through woodland leads to a hidden pond, before we follow the North Worcestershire Path back up a steep climb to take in views over the Malvern Hills, Black Mountains and Radnor Forest.
The path up to the Four Stones from the car park is easy access, suitable for wheelchairs. The woodland paths are mostly mud paths, and get very muddy after rain, so are not recommended for wheelchairs. Overall elevation is 400ft and descent is 350ft. There are information boards at the beginning of the route and along the way to describe the history of the hills and to highlight views of other Midlands landscapes.

More info
We will meet at the front of the Nimmings Wood café. The car park is operated by National Trust and parking is free for National Trust members, or £4.40 for non-members. It is easily accessible from Junction 4 of the M5. The nearest train station is Hagley, which is 3.5 miles away.
Single-sex toilets are available at the car park. There are no other toilet facilities on the route.
Dogs are welcome. From the National Trust website: Please keep them on a lead in the car park, café area and on the Easy Access Route as well as in areas grazed by livestock. If your dog does not have good recall please keep them on the lead at all times to protect sheep and cattle on the hills. More information can be found here: Dog walking in the Clent Hills | National Trust
We will be going at a gentle pace that will work for everyone, and nobody will be left behind. The walk will be led with this in mind and numbers will be capped.
You should bring all clothing and kit that you need for the weather - including sturdy footwear, a waterproof jacket and warm layers. A hat is also advisable as it can be quite windy on the top of the hills. Walking poles can be used, but should not be necessary.
Please bring any food or snacks you need for a walk of this length, and plenty of water. We will be stopping for short breaks and there will be the opportunity to go for coffee or lunch afterwards at the café.

Our walks are all volunteer run. If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend the walk, please email [email protected] to cancel your space so we can let the volunteer know and open up your space to others.
