Join Service Forester Michael Antonishak from PA DCNR Bureau of Forestry for a woods walk at the Van Scott Nature Reserve. On this causal 1.5-mile walk over moderate terrain, Michael will discuss what we are seeing by touching upon forest health, wildlife habitat, and tree ID. We will also have a special guest who will identify and talk about the birds we observe along the way. Bring your curiosity!Walk in Penn’s Woods, a statewide coordinated event on the first Sunday in October, encourages people across Pennsylvania to learn how their local woods work, see forests in new ways, and appreciate and love the forests so that we can all care well for them.
Please be prepared to walk on sloped terrain, and wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that are comfortable for the weather. This is a free event and advance registration is not required. Contact Rachel Morrow at [email protected] or 570-226-3164 ext. 2 with any questions.
