This event will offer two different tests designed to analyze how your genes may affect medication outcomes and help you understand your hereditary risks for cancer.The GeneSight mental health medication test analyzes clinically important genetic variations in your DNA. Results can inform your doctor about how you may break down or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
Current EBO MD members do not have to have an appointment for the GeneSight test. Non-members will need to make an appointment to receive a diagnosis before testing. Costs for the GeneSight test may vary based on your insurance plan. A cost estimator is available at genesight.com/cost.
MyRisk from Myriad is a powerful tool that evaluates 48 genes associated with 11 different core hereditary cancers. MyRisk helps easily assess a patient’s lifetime hereditary cancer risk and helps improve patient outcomes with personalized care plans.
The MyRisk tool requires a quick pre-screening assessment online before the event (mygenehistory.com/ebomd/). No appointment is necessary. After the blood draw or saliva sample, you’ll receive a personalized cost estimate from Myriad Genetics. Most qualifying patients pay $0! Your results should be returned in 2-3 weeks. Optional: Schedule a complimentary genetic counseling session with a certified genetic counselor to walk through results and next steps
