13th Annual Walk for Independence is happening Saturday May 31st from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Mount Ida Campus of Umass Amherst (100 Carlson Avenue in Newton MA)! This is a free event where we invite you to walk to fundraise money for vision loss but to also celebrate the entire community coming together to improve the lives of people with vision loss.


  • Registration: 9:00 a.m.
  • Walk kick-off: 10:00 a.m.
  • Post-walk BBQ and activities: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.


Attendees will complete a 1 2 or 3-mile walk around the Mt. Ida campus of UMass Amherst in Newton followed by a celebration for all ages!
