Walk For Blind Independence
Every step we take, every dollar we raise, puts people with vision loss further on the path to independence!
Lions Services, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Charlotte, dedicated to offering employment opportunities to individuals who are blind, is thrilled to announce its first-ever 3K Walk for Blind Independence, taking place on Saturday, September 23, 2023. This community event aims to raise awareness about the remarkable opportunities generated by Lions Services and to secure funds that will enable us to sustain and expand these opportunities in the future.
The Walk is more than just a fundraiser; it is a joyful CELEBRATION of our united community, coming together to enhance the lives of visually impaired individuals and promote their independence. We invite you to join us in making a significant impact! By participating in this event, you contribute to the continuous creation of employment for the blind community and the maintenance of specialized machinery that empowers our employees to carry out intricate tasks.
Our goal for this walk is to raise $25,000, and your presence and support will make all the difference. Together, let's uplift and empower the lives of those with visual impairments while building a brighter future for the blind community.
After the Walk: All participants and volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the day at the White-Water Center! Participants and volunteers will have access to 3 Pavilions during the walk and immediately after with music and giveaways. (Whitewater Center activities are not included in walk registration)
What is included in my registration: Your registration includes a t-shirt, event materials, and parking. Show your registration at the gate.
Walk from home- If you are unable to attend PLEASE consider signing up to support our mission. $25 (No T-shirt )
RACE DAY LATE REGISTRATION ON September 23rd: $40.00 – with shirt (while supplies last) from 8:00am to 8:30am only.
Packet Pick up: Information will be provided closer to the event date. The walk is for EVERYONE to participate, volunteer guides will be available.
REFUND & WEATHER POLICY: Race registration is non-refundable. This race will run rain or shine unless there is severe weather such as thunderstorms, heavy and persistent rain etc. Should we cancel, you will be notified via social media, our website and email. Should we cancel, there will be no refunds as that money has already been put toward the race.
