YWCA Rock County is excited to continue the partnership with the Janesville Farmer’s Market for the 2025 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event. The event will take place at the JP Cullen Memorial Pavilion off of Festival Street in Downtown Janesville.
The 19th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a unique walk that invites participants to walk a mile in women’s shoes to raise awareness and funds for domestic violence victims. The money raised benefits the domestic violence programs at the YWCA Rock County. YWCA Rock County provided 2,639 nights of shelter in 2024, serving a total of 990 individuals in our community.
Anyone interested in participating in the walk that does not currently have a pair of high heel shoes can take advantage of the shoe fitting starting at 9:30am for those looking to borrow a pair for the walk. YWCA is asking for a five-dollar donation for the shoe rental. A brief program highlighting YWCA Domestic Violence Programs begins at 10:00am followed by the one mile walk through downtown Janesville concluding with Team Awards.
YWCA Rock County is looking for Teams to start their own fundraisers to help raise money for the event. The goal for the 2025 Event is to raise $40,000 for the Domestic Violence Programs at YWCA Rock County.
