Please come and join us for a beach clean at Walcott beach 📍Meeting at Walcott seafront ramp NR120AA
⏱️11:am ,finishing back at the ramp for 1pm latest
🔄Working towards Ostend ramp and/or poachers pocket /keswick ramp
🔨Equipment provided , but if you have a picker or gardening gloves bring them along if you wish
👧Children welcome with a responsible adult
🐕dogs welcome recommended on leads and adhere to local restrictions
⚠️ hazards
Dog muck ( only pick up in bags)
Needles (rare but possible , let organiser know, sharps box available, be wary if kneeling, wear gloves if desposing of them)
Small areas of slight sinking sand ( be cautious of dips)
Wildlife such as seals ( leave alone and admire from a good distance , do not try and approach them)
Slippery surfaces( be very weary of green blanket sea W**d! Extremely slippery)
Chemical tubs ( rare but if not empty must be left and coast guard informed )
Glass and sharp metal pieces
Palm oil and parrafin ( keeps dogs away if found! A yellow waxy substance , parrafin will smell chemically)
Eroding cliffs ( stay well clear from edges, do not attempt to climb cliffs or allow your dog to run up them! Clay cliffs are very soft and prone to collapse)
Heavy fishing gear and rope
Jet skis, tractors and lifeguard training
🚽☕️ facilities along seafront including cafe, chip shop and toilets
🚗 free parking along seafront
🥾sensible shoes such as wellies or walking shoes, mobile phone incase of emergency, water for hydration
🧤Gloves are highly recommended for hygiene and contamination risks
Weather appropriate clothing
🚮Rubbish will be weighed at the end for data and can be left by the bins at top of ramp
