Jake Pigott Memorial American Legion Post 114 is a Commemorative Partner with The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. We invite those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces from November 1, 1955 - May 17, 1975, regardless of the location of your service, to join us in a Welcome Home Ceremony for Vietnam Veterans on Saturday, September 16, 2023. It will be held in the Wakulla County Public Library, Main Meeting Room from 3:00 - 5:00pm. (The Ceremony will likely not take two hours, but we are allowing time for you to enjoy a slice of cake and a coffee with your fellow Veterans afterwards.) Because there are capacity limits on the room & we need to be sure to not run out of the pins (that each Vietnam Era Veteran will receive), we need to request RSVP for this event. Please let us know you will be attending sooner than later. (And also keep in mind that we will have additional Ceremonies in the future, in case you cannot make it to this one.)
You can contact us through this event page; on our Facebook page: American Legion Post 114 - Florida; [email protected]; or stop by the Wakulla County Public Library and see Roxann at the Circulation Desk (not on Tues mornings, please).
Note: This is a free event and intended to celebrate our local Vietnam Veterans. This is our second such Ceremony & it is a nice, touching ceremony. If you served, please consider attending.
