How does Wakefield Clothes Exchange Work?You can bring up to 15 items to swap. We check each item for holes, missing buttons, broken zips, stains, bobbled knitwear. Please don't bring it if you wouldn't buy it from a charity shop.
We accept women's and children's clothes, shoes, bags and accessories: scarves, hats, gloves and wraps (not jewellery). Please don't bring men's clothes as we cannot accept them.
They are put on hangers and placed with everyone's clothes and then the fun begins and you can go and search for a new wardrobe!
If you bring 15 items you can take 15 items away. If you take away fewer items than you bring you can carry over to the next exchange.
If you have credit from our previous exchanges please come along, pay the entry fee and get those credits used up.
The entry is £3 (cash only please).
Children are free unless they want to bring items of clothing too. There is a cashpoint at the Premier and Tesco Express if you don't have cash.
It is always really busy at the start of an Exchange so it may be worth coming a little later if you don't like too much of a crowd. More clothes will be out by this stage too!
There are changing facilities if you wish to try stuff on.
