About this Event
“The biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation”
As announced in The King’s Speech before Parliament, the UK’s new Labour government is set to make major changes to employment law and employees’ rights.
The purpose of the session is to help attendees to prepare for the government’s changes to employment law (the specific changes are yet to be confirmed). Our intimate setting will help you prepare for these extensive changes, and give you the opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed and informal environment. Harriet Gardner, Solicitor in our Employment Law team, will cover essential updates to help you stay ahead. We expect that the changes may include:
✅ Day one rights (including protection from unfair dismissal)
✅ Ban on exploitative zero-hour contracts
✅ Flexible working – the default position from day one
✅ Single Enforcement Body (to be known as Fair Work Agency)
The event will run from 8.30am - 10.30am, designed to fit seamlessly into your schedule without disrupting your workday.
