In an effort to bring together more of our Māori whānau living on Wadawurrung Country in the Geelong, Surf Coast and surrounding areas, we will be having a casual whānau catch up and kai on the afternoon of Friday 6th February, the day Te Tiriti o Waitangi was signed in 1840.Location: Cozy corner, Doonmarnwaring/torquay
Friday 6th February 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Please RSVP to the event so we know numbers, as we will be putting on a sausage sizzle & some other food.
We know that people may be pushed for time to get to Torquay after work, so our kai will be around 6:30pm to give people time to get there.
You are welcome to bring some kai to share, but it is not expected, as people may be strapped for time after work. So just bring yourselves.
We’ll have a couple big island mats, and some chairs for any elders, some song sheets and a guitar that I cant play lol, if you want to learn some Māori waiata. Lets have some wholesome korero, waiata and weather permitting, a refreshing dip in the moana.
I’ll post any updates in here if needed.
Please note is a family friendly gathering and location, so theres no alcohol where we’ll be.
Any questions, please post in here or message Jade on 0403388920.
