Welcome to the Wairarapa CinemathequeFilm lovers in the Wairarapa have a new home for cinema. The Wairarapa Cinematheque launches in 2025 with a curated programme of classics, contemporary gems, and cult favourites — films you rarely get to see on the big screen.
2025 Screening Programme:
Sunday 28 September, 7:30pm – Rear Window (1954) Alfred Hitchcock’s suspense masterpiece starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly. PG Rating.
Sunday 26 October, 7:30pm – Rochelle (2024) & Bellbird (2019)Two powerful New Zealand films showcasing extraordinary local storytelling. M Rating.
Sunday 30 November, 7:30pm – Run Lola Run (1998)A thrilling, kinetic ride through fate, love, and chance in this German cult classic. M Rating.
Ticket Options:
Three Movie Membership – the best value! Secure your seat for all three screenings and enjoy the full Cinematheque experience. Membership cards will be issued at our first screening, which is REAR WINDOW (1954). Please arrive 15 minutes early to collect your membership cards/ticket.
Single Ticket – perfect for sampling the magic on opening night.
