Trees for Canterbury extend an open invitation for the public to participate in a ‘Planting Event’, with the goal of establishing additional native trees and shrubs that we will be donating. This key event will take place on Saturday 7th September, and is part of the ongoing development within the Reserve by the CCC Regional Park Rangers. The Reserve is a natural wetland noted for its regenerating native bush and wildlife habitat, is a project that is an ongoing partnership between the community, Trees for Canterbury, Avon-Ōtākaro Forest Park, and the Regional Park Rangers of the Christchurch City Council. The event is scheduled between 10.00am and 12.00pm at Waikākāriki - Horseshoe Lake Reserve, with entry to the planting site at the end of Kingsford Street.
The planting is only a very short walk from there.
Look for the signs directing you to the site. Bring along family, friends, and a spade.
