About this Event
This event is for those who are soon to qualify as newly registered midwives and are keen to find out more about our maternity services and the preceptorship package we offer.
Choosing the right package of preceptorship is vital for the support you will receive in making the transition from student midwife to an accountable autonomous practitioner. Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust has a dedicated preceptorship lead midwife which has enabled the development of a robust preceptorship programme which we are proud to offer to you as band 5 midwives.
Come and join us cn Saturday 5th October 2024 from 11am and 2:30pm and find out about the range of opportunities and support we have on offer at WAHT.
This event will be a series of presentations starting at 11am; therefore, to get the most out of this day, please attend from 11am to see all the elements that are on offer. Draft timetable is attached above.
We will be ready to greet you in the Charles Hastings Education Centre. On arrival, enjoy a hot drink and have a chat with our staff about what it is like to work here. Tours will be made available if you have not trained within the trust.
We have three models of preceptorship; they have different frameworks to ensure a robust support pathway. There is:
- Traditional rotational preceptorship which covers inpatient areas and community
- Continuity Model of Care Pathway whereby NQM can work within this setting from the onset.
- Community Preceptorship Pathway for those who are passionate about providing care within a community setting with a set inpatient unit day per week for experience and exposure.
Your preference for the above preceptorship pathways can be expressed at interview.
We have passionate individuals within all of our teams, and are working hard to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong. We welcome and value difference, and are passionate about the wellbeing of our staff.
