UPDATE: Wadworth Brewery are organising a bike ride on Wednesday Sep 3rd 2025 to commemorate Henry Wadworth’s penny farthing journey from London to Bath back in the day on a boneshaker! They want me and my penny farthing riding friends (Henry was a keen ordinary rider too!) to support the event.I've had an email from Wadworth today requesting numbers. Their riders plan to leave the brewery in Devizes and head to Bath around 10-11am so they've asked us to be there at 9.30am. That's a tad early but nothing I'm sure for a bunch of hardy ordinary, beer-drinking pedallers.
I've suggested that we join the riders at least for a few miles before peeling off to one of their pubs for sustenance then on perhaps for tea!
Please let me know ASAP if you can join us.
