DESCRIPTION: Join Waco Walks April 12 for a tour of Oakwood Cemetery, focusing on "Women of Oakwood: The Backbone of Waco." Established in 1878, Oakwood Cemetery serves as a burial place for over 36,000 on its beautiful 160-acre, tree-lined site. Clint Lynch, General Manager of Oakwood Cemetery, will lead our tour with an emphasis on the women of Waco who helped shape our city. PARKING: Parking will be available in the lot at the cemetery office (2124 South 5th St.), as well as along 5th Street and Oakwood Street.
WALK LENGTH: 1.5 to 2 miles

ACCESSIBILITY: Oak Cemetery contains a flat surface, covered in grass but with tree roots. A wheelchair or scooter with all-terrain tires would probably be OK.
HYDRATION: Please bring your own water.
DOGS: Dogs welcome, but they MUST be on a leash, and you MUST scoop the poop!
WEATHER/CANCELLATION PLAN: We plan to walk rain or shine, so if it looks like rain, bring an umbrella.
