Led by some Australia’s finest percussionists, including UWA’s Chair of Percussion (and WASO Principal Percussionist) Brian Maloney, the WA Percussion Weekend is jam packed with masterclasses, workshops and performances for percussionists of all ages and skill levels.Presenters include: Brian Maloney (WASO), Daniel Susnjar, Steve Richter, Alex Timcke (WASO), Adam Tan, Tegan Le Brun, Catherine Betts & Joshua Webster (Kaboom Percussion), Carissa Soares, Simon Vanyai (Taiko-On), James Chong and Michael Perkins!
SENIORS
Saturday 18 June | 12pm-6pm
Students from Year 11 - Tertiary, are invited to join advanced sessions on Timpani, Two-Mallets, Drum-Kit and Marimba Technique, as well as tips on effective practice strategies.
JUNIORS
Sunday 19 June | 9am-12pm
Students in Year 7-10 will enjoy introductory workshops on: Snare Drum, Drum-Kit, Four-Mallets, Latin Basics, Accessory Percussion, Taiko and MORE!
WEEKEND SHOWCASE
Sunday 19 June | 1pm-6.30pm
Seniors and Juniors combine for Open Rehearsals, Community Networking, Just Percussion Instrument Showcase and the PERCUSSION ALL-STARS CULMINATION Concert at 4pm
(to be followed by a prize give-away).
