Back by popular demand, Laserforce PK will be hosting another weekend event, WA Clash 2!
We'll be playing Force Field, also known as "The League format" or "Zone teams format" or "ZLTAC teams".
5th - 7th of December 2025 (Friday - Sunday)
Training on Friday evening from 4pm - 10pm
Comp games on Saturday afternoon - 10pm (start time based on number of teams, but not earlier than 2pm)
Comp games and teams finals Sunday afternoon - 11pm
We'll also be doing a side event of Laserball from 10pm - Midnight on the Friday and Saturday!
Registration cost is $600 per team for the Force Field event. Interstate players reduce the team's rego cost by $200 per interstate player (to a minimum of $0) So yes, any team with 3 or more players who don't live in WA plays for free! :O
The Laserball comp will have a team rego cost of $80, reduced by $40 per interstate player on the Laserball team (again, minimum of $0)

FAQ:
Q: What have you changed since Clash 1?
A: We've had tons of great feedback from Clash 1, and we're looking to incorporate most of it for Clash 2. The maze is a constant work in progress, the reffing schedule was suboptimal, and format things like the pack lights, the muzzle flash, the IR settings, the pack volume, the wake up order are all things we're looking to improve upon with some testing. I'll have more details when we spend some time tinkering with it after nats this year, but the goal is to make the experience significantly more intuitive for non-Laserforce players. :)
Q: What the **** is a Force Field??
A: It's the name we came up with for the zone teams format when we changed to Laserforce over a decade ago cause it doesn't really have a name other than "Teams" and we didn't want to call it "Zone teams". No one has suggested a better name. :P
Q: Why should I come play a zone game on Laserforce?
A: The game is exactly the same except for the following differences:
-You can't shoot more than 1 player in the same shot. (ie. no cannoning)
-The pack and phasor are a slightly different shape.
-When you reload you always deac for 8 seconds (unlike Helios where you'll deac for 4 under specific circumstances)
Everything else is the same. The scoring, the timing, the bases, the rulebook, everything. :)
Q: I played Laserforce once and I could be shot while dead, why would I want that?
A: That's a mechanic called resets, which is in most Laserforce game modes, but thankfully the zone emulation format we have means we can turn that off! Your dueling experience is the same as on Hpro. :)
