Voodoo Grappling Trials
Seminar / Competitions / Rolling / Assessments
These trials will be running four times per year, and open to all levels of Voodoo members from all our Satellite gyms.
This is a chance for us to get together, meet the coaches that you don’t see every day, and the students from other classes and clubs.
You are guaranteed to take away something new, and it’s your chance to be observed by the coaches so they can assess you for promotion in a fun and informal way.
Seminar
Guest coaches will teach you something a little special that is not taught in the mainstream classes, something to take-away and add to your game.
You may be invited to teach your favourite techniques, if you are, do not miss out on this unique opportunity to show others what you can do.
Competitions
On these trials we will be running in-house competitions. If you would like to try what it would feel like competing, then this is the safe and fun environment to do so.
There will be two eight-man tournaments in two categories – white belts and coloured belts, so book early to secure your place.
There will be an open weight NO GI competition.
And a lady’s category if there are enough females.
There will be trophies, medals, and of course the good-old Ego boost.
Rolling
Part of the day will be set aside for friendly rolling. Coaches will guide you on how to improve your rolling, giving you winning tips and tricks.
Grading Assessments
Like our classes, throughout the day, the coaches will be assessing participants (particularly from other campuses) and discussing the potential for promotion. Any new promotions and belts will be awarded at the end of the day.
Other Information
Bring all your training kit with you and wear the appropriate clothing or you will not be able to take part.
There will be plenty of opportunity for breaks and to chat with the coaches and other students.
The day starts at 10am, be there early and ready to train on-time. We plan to finish at 2pm, however, please allow additional time if we overrun.
The cost to take part is £35, this includes competition fees.
