WHAT: We are lifting another muka bush with high quality leaves. Good for kākahu, piupiu, kete muka, etc. The plant originally came from the Manawatū Moutoua flax fields. These plants were bred in the early 20th century for the flax mills.
WHO: Weavers only – These are taonga plants – No horticultural experience needed – just bring gloves and enthusiasm!
BRING: Your lunch and your muka tools. We will also hold a small wānanga where each weaver can share their unique way of hāro/extracting muka.
